2024- 2025

LKA provides an encouraging environment where students find other children like themselves. They no longer are singled out as “different.” Not only are their weaknesses addressed with 90 minutes of structured language arts every day, but their strengths in things like big picture thinking and problem solving are recognized and developed.

With a small group setting, our educators provide individualized instruction that fosters academic excellence, critical thinking, and a love for learning.

Our Admission Process

The admission process begins with a screening of all application materials. The admissions team then assesses if the student is at risk for dyslexia and if so, the student will be tested to verify dyslexia. If the applicant is found to be dyslexic by the admissions team, then the student is accepted into LKA or placed on a waitlist for when a spot becomes available.

What is dyslexia?

Louisiana law states that dyslexia is defined as "an unexpected difficulty in reading for an individual who has the intelligence to become a much better reader most commonly due to a difficulty in phonological processing which affects the ability of an individual to speak, read, and spell.
